Brazilian keratin treatments are the newest way to pamper your hair and Michael Rose Hair Designs is proud to introduce this new service to clients.

Brazilian keratin treatment is a process that smoothes and straightens hair to reduce frizziness, repair and moisturize, said Michael Rose, who owns the Lakeland hair salon. It also reduces bulk and volume and strengthens the hair.

Keratin Express, the brand of treatment offered at Michael Rose Hair Designs, takes about 20 minutes to process and unlike other Brazilian keratin treatments, clients can shampoo their hair 24 hours after the process. Other treatments often require the client to wait 72 hours before shampooing their hair. The treatment lasts up to six weeks and provides versatility among clients who want to wear their hair straight or curly.

Keratin Express has no added formaldehyde. For the longest lasting results, Rose recommends using a sulfate-free shampoo or shampoo designed for hair that has been color treated.

Keratin is a protein that is a significant component in hair, nails, skin, and even teeth. Hair, nails and skin are formed from dead keratin cells shed by the body as new cells push up from underneath. When properly cared for, these dead keratin cells create an insulating layer to protect the fragile new keratin below them.

“This is an excellent treatment option for people who have colored their hair excessively or who tend to have dry, brittle hair,” Rose said.

But the good news is that it actually can benefit any hair type, and can be applied to chemically processed, highlighted, bleached or color treated hair.
