Michael Rose
With a father who was a barber and a mother who was a hair stylist, it can be said that Michael Rose was born to be in the business of making people beautiful. A licensed hair stylist since 1969, Rose once operated the third largest day spa in Rhode Island. He sold that and “retired” to Florida, with the intention of taking up golf. Restlessness soon settled in and in 2007 Rose opened Michael Rose Hair Designs.
A fixture in the pageant arena since 1972, Rose serves as the northeast director for hair styling for the Miss USA pageant, owned by real estate mogul and reality TV personality Donald Trump. He also is active in the Miss USA pageant system and consults with contestants at the local, state and national levels on hair and makeup.
Through the years, Rose has worked with many of the pageant world’s most famous contestants, including Miss USA 2006 Tara Connor, Miss USA 1995 Shanna Moakler, and Miss Rhode Island USA 1997 Claudia Jordan, a model on NBC’s Deal or No Deal.
Rose also has served as a stylist to the stars, including singer Ann Murray and actors Tom Hanks, Suzanne Somers, Olivia de Haviland, Florence Henderson, Debra Messing and Vanessa Minnillo.
Success for Rose is seeing a woman walk into his salon without any confidence and watching her leave an hour later with a new hairstyle and feeling as though she’s 10 feet tall.
Whether it’s a new cut, bold highlights, a glamourous makeup consultation or an updo for a wedding or other special occasion, clients are comfortable in the capable hands of Michael Rose.
Rose hand-picked an accomplished team of stylists when he opened his salon. The stylists working with him are known for their professionalism, expertise and work ethic.

Lindsey Lankford
Lindsey, a talented stylist with a flair for creativity, joined the Michael Rose team in November 2010.
A hair stylist since 2004, she has an eye for the dramatic when it comes to hair color, and Lindsey’s ever-changing hair color and style is her own best advertisement. She specializes in intense fashion color by Pravana- the full spectrum of vibrant pinks, blues, purples, reds, greens and everything in between.
She is a trained Schwarzkopf and Pureology technician. This Kathleen native loves to make people fall in love with their hair by giving them a style and color with which they can be happy.
A great deal of thought goes into selecting an ideal look for each client, such as learning how long the client is willing to spend on their hair each morning, where they work and their lifestyle. Lindsey also guides clients into selecting age-appropriate styles and colors that compliment and enhance their facial features and personality.
Lindsey offers a wide variety of smoothing and straightening treatments and is certified in keratin treatment, Brazilian blowouts- which are great for all hair types-and Rejuvenol treatment.
A hair color trend-setter, Lindsey thrives on education and attends lots of classes annually in an effort to be the best.
Shaun Garnett – Lakeland Nail Specialist
When it comes to her profession of being a nail specialist, Lakeland nail technician Shaun Garnett asks, “Is it really a job when I love it?”
This Inspiring Champion from Indianapolis moved to Lakeland in 2004 and joined the Michael Rose team in September 2011. Inspiring Champions is a training program that teaches salon professionals to effectively address the business needs and challenges of the salon and day spa industry.
Shaun has learned to work smarter, more efficiently and to deliver an exceptional experience that keeps her clients happy. She is focused and knows her exceptional customer service and dedication is something that her clients appreciate.
After working in a couple of salons as a coordinator, Shaun fell in love with the salon atmosphere, customer interaction and seeing clients transform into more confident women. She realized she wanted to also be a part of the transformation process and began making women more beautiful through her talent of working with women’s nails.
Shaun’s skill, dedication and training allows her to provide clients with a variety of nail treatments, finishes and colors. After a brief consultation, she will help determine what is best for her clients. Whether it is the application of Tammy Taylor acrylic nails, applying Harmony Gelish, Stucture Gel, or Shellac for weaker nails, or helping her client select from her wide variety of OPI color collections, Shaun makes her customers feel they’re part of a “nail party.”
Shaun believes in continuing education and is always learning about new products and techniques. The Advanced Tammy Taylor Sculpted Nail Application and the Harmony Gelish Structure Gel class are among some of the many courses she has taken.
